All standard boxes, ported or sealed, feature a special build technique. This technique involves a rabbeted edge along with a routed groove to allow for a near seamless carpeted finish. Not only that, but this technique allows for the side panels to be inset 1” to give a very professional and appealing look.
    
Each and every Fisher Customs’ box is constructed using 3/4” Trupan Light. Trupan is the clear choice over MDF for a couple of reasons.
- First is its weight. Trupan Light is only 80% of the overall weight of regular MDF. This will yield a much lighter enclosure overall
- Even though Trupan is lighter, it still remains as “acoustically dead” as regular MDF.
- Trupan is also a much better choice of material to use from the builders standpoint. It cuts much smoother, routes easier, and holds screws much better than MDF. Not only that, but Trupan is much easier on the shop equipment.
- However, on average, Trupan cost is nearly double that of MDF. Still, overall I feel the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to the choice of Trupan. Although it is more expensive, I feel the quality of product that it allows me to produce is very much worth the extra cost.

Fisher Customs’ enclosures are constructed using 1 5/8” Primeguard Deck Screws alongside TiteBond II professional wood glue. This has been proven to provide one of the strongest and longest lasting bonds. All seams are guaranteed to be air tight, even without the use of any type of sealant.
 
Fisher Customs uses a high quality unbacked cabinet carpet. The carpet is available in 3 different colors: Medium Gray, Charcoal, or Black. The carpet is applied using a high quality Wilsonart WA950 adhesive, and as already stated, the carpeted finish has a near seamless appearance.
